Connect your agent

Let Claude, Cursor or any MCP tool read, write and publish content in your Neleto site, within the roles you set.

Neleto has a built-in MCP server, so AI agents can work in your site directly. This is entirely optional, and your site works exactly the same without it.

There are two ways to connect, and which one you use depends on your tool:

  • Claude.ai and Claude Desktop connect in one click with OAuth, no token needed.
  • Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code and other tools connect with an API token.

What a connected agent can do

Within the roles you set, an agent can create and edit pages, manage files, update blog posts, list events and more, and it can open the live page to check its own work. You stay in control: an agent only ever has the permissions of the user it connects as, and you can revoke access at any time.

One click with OAuth (Claude.ai and Claude Desktop)

Claude's Custom Connectors authenticate with OAuth, so there is no token to create or paste. Neleto is its own OAuth server, so you just log in and approve.

  1. In Claude, open Settings -> Connectors -> Add custom connector.
  2. Enter your MCP endpoint URL: https://<your-neleto-url>/api/mcp
  3. Claude opens your Neleto instance in the browser. Log in (if you are not already) and approve the Connect application consent screen.
  4. Claude is redirected back and gets an access token automatically. The connector is ready.

Now ask Claude to work with your site, for example "List the pages on my Neleto site".

You can review and revoke connected apps at any time in your Neleto admin under Profile -> Security -> Connected applications.

With an API token (Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code and more)

Tools that configure MCP from a file authenticate with a Bearer token instead of OAuth.

  1. In your Neleto admin, open Profile -> Security and create an API token.
  2. Add Neleto to your tool with that token. For Claude Code:
claude mcp add --transport http neleto https://<your-neleto-url>/api/mcp \
  --header "Authorization: Bearer <your-token>"

For Cursor, VS Code (Copilot Agent Mode), Claude Desktop (config file), OpenCode and Windsurf, copy the ready-made snippet for your tool from the MCP reference.

Treat the token like a password. It carries the permissions of your user, so only share it with tools you trust, and revoke it in Profile -> Security if it is ever exposed.
